Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Soccer season extends from March/April through to August/September
  • All games are played on Saturdays, generally commencing from 8am to 5pm. Senior games may be played in the evenings on Friday or Saturday, depending upon which Association (QCSA or BFQ) you are playing in
  • U6 – U10 competition is generally North Side Metropolitan based
  • U11+ may involve playing a against a variety of Brisbane and Country Metropolitan clubs in varying locations throughout the area
  • All games are played on a “home and away” basis so at least 50% of your games will be played at John Oxley Reserve, Ogg Rd, Murrumba Downs
  • QCSA does not have any weekly match fees (except if registered in the Senior comp as a Part Time player). The registration fee covers everything except personal apparel. Club Match shirts are supplied and are returned at the end of each season.
  • Junior games are not usually played during school holidays or on public holidays
  • Finals competition is only held for U9 and over
  • Every junior player receives a trophy or plaque at the Club’s Presentation nights which are held at the end of each season

U6, 7 & 8 – Rooball

  • U6-U8 games commence first, with older age groups staggered through the remainder of the day with Seniors games generally being played in the afternoon
  • U6, 7 & 8 teams have a maximum of 8 players per team – 6 players are on the field with the Coach at all times, with 2 substitutes
  • Under 6 & 7 play 2 x 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break whereas U8 play 2 x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break
  • All U6, 7 & 8 games are played on a half sized field with goal keepers.
  • Rooball rules apply to U6, 7 & 8 games

Under 9 and Under 10

  • U9  and U10 seasons consist of 15 games played on half sized fields with a maximum of 12 players in each team – 9 players (max) to be on the field at any time.
  • Game time for these age groups are 2 x 25 minute halves.

Under 11 and Over

  • U11 + seasons consist of 15 games played on full sized fields with a maximum of 15 players in each team – 11 players (max) to be on the field at any time.
  • Game time for these age groups vary with U11s playing 2 x 25 minute halves through to 45 minute halves for Senior teams where FIFA rules apply

Training

  • Training is usually once a week but could be twice a week as your child moves to the older age groups (pending Coach’s preference)
  • Training is a minimum of 1 hour and is usually conducted on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between the hours of 4-9pm (pending Coach and field availaility)
  • The early training time slots are reserved for U6, 7, 8 & 9 age groups.
